From Loss to Purpose: The Story Behind Aurora’s Soulstones

A year ago, my life changed forever.

After 25 years working in the same field, I was made redundant, at the exact time my daughter’s complex medical needs were worsening. Overnight, everything shifted. I could no longer commit to full-time work, and as a solo parent, the weight of uncertainty felt overwhelming. For the first time in my adult life, I found myself without a career to anchor me, both financially and emotionally.
Then, just two months later, we experienced the devastating loss of our beloved pony, Aurora. She wasn’t just a pony; she was my daughters therapy, comfort, and safe space - the light in her day. Losing her left a void that words can’t quite explain. A profund loss that echoed in all parts of our life.
By the summer of 2025, I had reached my lowest point. My own health was faltering, and emotionally I felt completely burned out.
But sometimes, in the middle of everything falling apart, something quietly begins to rebuild.
With the encouragement of a friend, I found my way back to my artistic roots - something I had set aside decades ago when life took me down a corporate path. And slowly, piece by piece, it helped me heal. It gave me purpose again.
From that place, Aurora’s Soulstones was born.
What started as a way to process grief, creating jewellery for my own family and keeping my mind occupied, has grown into something beautiful: creating memorial jewellery and keepsakes for others navigating loss, just as we did last year. Pieces that hold memories, love, and connection, just as Aurora will always do for us. And in doing so, I am able to be present for my daughter Frankie as we navigate a medically complex life
.

Building something You Can Trust

I know what it feels like to hand over something deeply personal. To trust someone with your memories and your grief. To hand over something which you want to hold on to with all your might, keeping those last keepsakes of your loved one safe from harm. The sense of wanting to honour them, but being afraid to choose the wrong way to do it.

And I also understand that choosing a new business can feel like a leap of faith.
That’s why I’ve poured so much of myself, not just into my jewellery, but into every part of this journey.
I’ve spent countless hours behind the scenes learning, practising, refining, and investing in my craft to ensure that every piece I create meets the highest standards. From materials to finishing details, quality is never an afterthought, it’s at the heart of everything I do.
I’ve also worked hard to build a website that feels exactly how I want my customers to feel: welcomed, calm, and supported.
A space where you can explore gently and where the process feels simple, even when the emotions behind it are not. A clear and accessible space for everyone, with no hard pressure to purchase, but the support you need to find what you need.
Because I know this isn’t “just a purchase.” It’s something far more meaningful.

More Than a Business

This isn’t just a shop.
It’s a personal extension of my own story.
Every order I receive carries a responsibility I take seriously and each piece is created with intention, care and respect, because I know what it represents.
And while I may be a new business, what I offer is built on years of lived experience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to doing this right.
You’re not just another order number. You are trusting me with something that matters, and that trust means everything to me.

Thank You

To everyone who has supported me, shared my work, or trusted me with their stories - thank you.
Thank you for believing in a small business with a big heart. Thank you for allowing me to do work that truly matters. And thank you for letting me be a small part of your story.
This is exactly where I’m meant to be.
